Chakra Angel Wall Sculpture by Primal Painter

abstract art 3D wall sculpture

Chakra Angel” by Primal Painter

This is an abstract art three dimensional wall sculpture entitled “Chakra Angel that I created in July of 2011.

It incorporates my original energy art print entitled Chakra Angel” into the design as it’s focal point.  I got to thinking that selling prints by themselves is awesome, but it would be cool to present them in a unique way that makes them ready to hang with no framing necessary.

The print itself measures  5″ x 5″  and is mounted on 1/4″ wood.  The edges are embellished with teal and purple dimensional paint to create a textural border.

The background is also cut out of 1/4″ wood and measures about 13″ in diameter.  The design, in my opinion, has a victorian vibe but with somewhat psychedelic colors.  Hey, a new style: Victorian Psychedelic! It’s airbrushed and handpainted and also includes some dimensional dots for texture and interest.

The two pieces of wood are layered together, with the back piece setting out from the wall about 1″ or so.

The energy art digital painting print is one that I created in May 2011.  To see the original print and to read more about it, go here:  Chakra Angel Energy Art Print.

I do all the designing, painting, and woodworking myself.

Energy Art Digital Painting “The Violet Flame”

The Violet Flame” by Primal Painter

Energy art digital painting print

I created this abstract energy art digital painting  entitled “The Violet Flame” in May 2011.

As an energy artist, I seek to create the flow and feeling of the unseen energy all around us into an intuitive visual representation which can be used for transformation and healing.  When I create healing energy art, I not only experience healing for myself, but also set my intention that healing will be experienced by all viewers and the planet.

________________________________________

Title: “The Violet Flame

Size: 8″ x 10″

Paper: Professionally printed on Kodak Endura Metallic Photo Paper. The paper is glossy with an unusual sheen and depth.

Colors: Greens, teals, fuschia, blues, red violet some orange and gold, violet, aqua, a little red

Shipping: Securely shipped through USPS First Class Mail. I’ll let you know when you can expect to receive it.

Signed, dated, and titled on the back

_________________________________________

In working with opening and clearing my own heart chakra, I felt the need to invoke the violet flame. Meditating on this image with the intention of transmuting the cause, effect, record, and memory of negative karma can be very healing.

The violet flame is also called the flame of transmutation, freedom and forgiveness.

From beginning to end, I infused this image with reiki healing energy. My intention was “This image will effectively burn off negative energy and emotions and will transmute them into the positive energy of forgiveness and release.”

I believe that this image could be used as a tool for transfomation and healing. Those who are sensitive to energy might feel a tingling or vibration, or maybe a lift in mood and well being.

This print will be incorporated into reiki jewelry and wall sculptures, so check back often.

>Reiki Attuned Energy Art Necklace

>

I just started listing energy art necklaces on Etsy and Artfire in the past few days.  I know I need to work on the focus (my eyes are getting blurry, darn it!) but I was wondering if I could get some opinions on the presentation.

For the first one I added in the blue gradation for the background. I think I might need to make it lighter, though.

The second one shows the size and how it looks as a necklace. It’s  1 1/2″ in diameter but I’m wondering if that’s too large for the average person.

The last photo just has a white background without the cord on it, but maybe that gives the impression that it’s just the pendant without the cord.

Right now, I have them listed at $25, but I thought that may be too high. Maybe $20 would be better.  I don’t want to go much lower than that because of the time involved in creating the print, and the work that goes into making the pendant, not to mention the cost of the cord, listing, the print, the selling fee, the paypal fee….  I also offered a free 30 minute distance reiki session to go along with them. Not a bad deal I thought, but don’t know how other people would see it.

The questions I have are this:

1) For a first impression, which photo would look best? I have a tendency to go with the first one because I’m into color, but sometimes my taste is way off from other people’s taste.

2)  Is it too big?  I can make them smaller. I blurred out the skin texture (sun damage lol), does that look weird? I also added in the black “shirt”.  Does it look fake and weird?  I see there’s a blurry part on the shirt, I could fix that.

3) Does having the pendant without the cord on it give the impression that it’s not a necklace?  It clearly says it comes with an adjustable length leather or cotton cord in the description, but how many people read the description?

4)  Does the description make sense?  Is it too long?  Too much information? You can see the description HERE.

I’ve been fragging over these questions for days, and finally it got through my thick skull that I have some bloggy friends whose opinions I greatly value and could give me some insights! Takes me awhile sometimes……….

It’s beautiful, warm, and sunny here today, yay! I’m torn between laying out in the sun and soaking up some rays and feel good light, cleaning up the yard, and working in the studio on my heart chakra painting. Gee, could it be possible to do all of the above?

I dunno, the basking in the sun sounds pretty good after the 18″ of rain we’ve gotten over the past week! And I can do that for HOURS (hence the sun damage). I’ve always been a sun worshipper and never been into the whole sun block thing. I guess there’s a price to pay for such reckless self-indulgence!  Maybe I’ll amaze myself and try to do it ALL! Or not, we’ll see.

Have an awesome day!

>Digital Energy Art "The Angel" by primalpainter

“The Angel” by primalpainter
I was in an Angel mood yesterday and created this beautiful energy art from a photo of one of my older wall sculptures called “Forest Angels”. I have the same image in several different color combos, but this one is my fave.

The wall sculpture I used for inspiration is actually quite different from the ones I have listed on Etsy and Artfire right now.  I painted the glass in a transparent way and put a bulb behind it so it’s actually a light. There are hidden images of angels all over it.  I did several styles of these wall sculpture lights, not quite sure why I stopped doing them because they’re really pretty cool and unique.  My daughter has this hanging in her apartment.

See any angels?
So  I was thinking, (oh no, not that) there seems to be a big connection between my moods, energy level and the weather.  I seem to have a strong desire to hibernate if the temperature gets below 55 degrees. Is that ridiculous or what?! 55 degrees!!
I think it must be one of those excuses that I pull out of my bottomless pit called “Stupid Excuses and Ridiculous Reasons for Procrastination“.  It’s always been a little tricky to be self-employed, there’s just so many things to get distracted by….. like naps….soap operas…flowers….books….daydreaming.  If it’s gloomy outside, Good Gawd, can’t work in the studio today, I might get some gloom on me or sumthin’.  What the…?!  That’s so ridiculous!
I really have to change my ways, like maybe get on a schedule of some kind.  (A schedule? Really? Me? LOLOL)   Seriously, though, I need to work on my self-discipline which is something I’ve been telling myself for the past oh, 30 years or so but to no avail.  Maybe it’s time to grow up………
On that note, let’s watch a little video:
That could be me telling myself  “You’re 50 years old, grow up, get some self discipline, and get on a schedule, darn you!”  I respond with “Talk to the hand, bee-otch, I can kick your butt with my kung fu feet!”. But in the end, it’s all just  “DA da da…da DA da…. da da DA”.
Haha, I could do a whole post on the imaginary conversation between these two
Well it’s gloomy, cold and rainy so I’d better curl up with a good book……Good Gawd, I’m hopeless!!!
Later,
Laurie

>Digital Energy Art "Genesis" & Two Artfire Collections

>

“Genesis” by primalpainter
I created this digital energy art from a photo of my wall sculpture entitled “Spiraling Up“, although how I got from that to this, I have no clue.  I must have done an “invert colors” at some point, because Spiraling Up is all blues.  Oh well, I guess I don’t need to know.  I go into kind of a trance when I’m working on these digital creations, so I’m never really clear on the steps I take.
I put two of my new prints up for sale on Etsy yesterday. I’m going to put two more up today, then import them all over to Artfire.  You know, I’m thinking I like Artfire.  I got featured in my first Artfire Collection the other day, and it made it to the front page, so that was super cool.  I picked up lots of views from it, but no sales.  Based on my Google Analytics, about 25% of my Artfire traffic is coming from search engines, as compared to Etsy where it’s about 17%.  Etsy gets more views, but not by that much which surprises me.
The thing about Artfire and anything new, really, is the effort it takes to learn the ropes.  For example, right now I’m going to go figure out how to show an Artfire Collection on here.    Ugghhhhhhhhh.  Here we go…..

#widgetcont p{ padding:0; margin:0; } .title_brown, .title_brown a, .title_brown a:link, .title_brown a:active, .title_brown a:visited, .title_brown a:hover { color:#dfa754; font-weight:bold; }.title_charc, .title_charc a, .title_charc a:link, .title_charc a:active, .title_charc a:visited, .title_charc a:hover { color:#333333; font-weight:bold; }

Jewelry Supplies

Wow, that was suprisingly easy!  Maybe it’s too wide, though. Oh well.  The one above is from yesterday and includes my wall sculpturePsychedelic Flower“.

The one below is the one that made it to the front page and includes my wall sculpture entitled “Blue Unity“..

#widgetcont p{ padding:0; margin:0; } .title_brown, .title_brown a, .title_brown a:link, .title_brown a:active, .title_brown a:visited, .title_brown a:hover { color:#dfa754; font-weight:bold; }.title_charc, .title_charc a, .title_charc a:link, .title_charc a:active, .title_charc a:visited, .title_charc a:hover { color:#333333; font-weight:bold; }

By the way, the reason I’m putting some words in bold is because I read somewhere that when search engines crawl your site, they head straight for the bold or italicized words, so it’s good for SEO to do that on at least some of your main keywords.
But now my font seems to be stuck on bold and tiny…..GREAT!
It’s going to be one of those days……
See ya!

“Second Chakra-Expansion” by primalpainter
This is a digital energy art image of my painting of the second chakra called “Healing the Hurt“.  I only used one filter to alter it in Gimp as opposed to a gajillion filters like I usually do.  I needed this today due to unforeseen circumstances. I think the time is ripe to do my fourth chakra painting, the dreaded heart chakra.
For those who don’t know what a chakra is, here’s a good explanation taken from the blog Kundalini Yoga and Chakra Balancing:
A chakra is defined as a wheel, or vortex of energy. There are seven primary chakras that flow through a human’s energetic system. The chakras have been called “windows to the soul” this is because they provide humans with subtle connections into soul consciousness. It is through the seven energy centers that vitality pulses throughout our system energizing many of our physical, emotional and mental states.

By removing blockages within our chakras we are able to remove blockages within our lives and can discover our true self, and purpose in life and in that discovery live to our fullest expression and potential.

Now for some exciting news! Melinda from Simply Smitten,  a person I greatly admire, and an Etsy, Artfire and Blogger Extraordinaire did a feature post about me on her blog yesterday!  I was so stoked about it, she did a fantastic job!  She could be a professional interviewer, she asked just the right questions that really made me think and clarify to myself in writing just what exactly it is that I’m doing with my artwork.
Be sure and check out her blog, Inspiration Earth –  A Journey of Simplicity.  While you’re at it, if you’re into earth friendly products such as body scrubs, hand sanitizers, lip balms, cleaning products, insect repellents, air fresheners and cool personalized clipboards and more, check out her shops on Etsy and Artfire.
Sometimes, my ideas bounce around in my head like popping popcorn, and writing them down in a coherent way can really help to streamline the goal.  It’s something I need to remember to do for myself periodically.
Paramahansa Yogananda said something along the lines that there are several levels to creating your own reality.  The first it to think it, the second is to write it down, the third is to speak it out loud, and the fourth is to take action.   I would add that it’s also important to “feel” it, feel the emotions that go along with a strong visualization of your ideal life. (This wasn’t my original thought, I heard it somewhere).  So thank you, Melinda, you prompted me to get things into stage two!
Another thing I wanted to mention today is Simply Smitten’s daughter Forest Faery, is having a giveaway on her blog Dreams of Fae.  I hadn’t really thought about giveaways before, but  Forest Faery is an inspiration to me despite her young age.  She’s giving away a free 5 x 7 print of one her beautiful photos, coupons for both of her Etsy and Artfire shops, an interview on her blog and two friendship bracelets.  What a haul!  Be sure to check it out!
Well, I have things to do today…it’s cold, I still have a migraine, so I’m thinking warm bed and my Stephen King book.  Important things, verryyy important things. lol  Maybe tomorrow I’ll be back to myself….
Have an awesome day!

>Digital Energy Art "Playful"

>

“Playful” by primalpainter
This is a close-up photo of my wall sculpture “Renewal” that I manipulated into abstract digital energy art.  It reminds me of those spinny things on sticks that we used to play with when we were kids. What are those things called?  I know it’s not “spinny things” but …..Oh yeah, pinwheels!  (Had to ask my boyfriend because his brain isn’t as whore-moan addled as mine apparently is….I tell myself it’s whore-moans, not age, so let me have my illusion!)
I’ve been procrastinating putting these prints up for sale on my Etsy and Artfire sites.  My excuse is that I’ve been researching keywords for the titles and trying to define what these images actually are, but of course, that’s just my excuse of the day.  Are they Fine Art? Digital Art? Abstract Art? Energy Art?
I don’t know if other people research their keywords, but I read somewhere that keywords are really important for your SEO (search engine optimization).  I use the google adwords tool to research various search terms in order to see how many people actually use those words in a google search.
I’ve found what appears to be some awesome keywords, for example digital  art gets 165,000 searches a month which sounds great.  But when you google digital art there’s almost 55 million results, which means my listing would be on page what? 40 million?  Geeze, somehow I don’t think people are going to go past page three or maybe five, let alone page 40 million!  Soooo……..don’t know, don’t know……   Even Energy Art which would be very specialized, niche oriented and gets 5,400 searches every month has the whopping 23 million results. What the…..?! Really?
The ideal scenario is fairly high search numbers, say 9,000 searches per month, and less than 100,000 results.  A person might actually have a chance of getting on the first couple of pages with those odds assuming they maximize their keywords in the right places in their listing.
Oh blah, blah, blah….  I hate all this mumbo jumbo technical crapola of selling on the internet.  How about a different version of “Playful” to recapture my wandering mind.
“Playful Daydream”
I actually think I like this one better than the first one.  Good Gawd, what’s happening to me?! Since when do I like something that doesn’t require sunglasses to protect my eyes from it’s loud, in your face colors?

How about this one…….
“Playful Romance”
Hmmm, interesting….I like the colors……and I used to be way into diagonals but now?  Not so sure anymore….Wow, I really am changing…maybe just for the time being, we’ll see…..  That’s the thing about this digital energy art, it seems to reflect my energy flow of the moment.
Well, I’m off to nurse this brutal migraine I’ve had for a couple of days.  First, let’s try a little humor medicine, see if that works on migraines:
LOLOLOL, why WHY do I find that so hilarious?  Poor kid…..poor, silly, freakin’ hilarious stupid kid.  I’m starting to think I’m a little twisted in the humor department……
And, it didn’t help the migraine physically but a good laugh is always good mentally, even if it’s for the twisted reasons of “habenero induced silly boy agony”.  Bad girl, Laurie, BAD!!

Laurie

“Growth” by primalpainter
This is a shot I took yesterday of a blossom on my almond tree.  I was going to leave it “normal”, but I just can’t seem to resist twisting and warping and spiraling it into abstract energy art.  It’s pretty cool, I guess, but I still like the more psychedelic abstract images with wild colors better.  It’s starting to become clear to me that not everyone shares my taste in wild, loud visuals..lol  Anyway, this is the best I can do at keeping it conservative at this point.
I’ve been into bold wild colors since junior high at least.  When I was younger than that, I had posters of horses on my walls (we had 12 horses), then I discovered the wonderful world of blacklight posters, blacklights, and other trippy special effect lighting.  Now keep in mind, this was way before I even knew what the word trippy actually implied, so apparently my visual tastes are just my natural state.
“Gentle Touch of Angels”
This one is a shot of a pear tree blossom.  It’s kind of pretty, soft and romantic.  I wonder if my taste will evolve into something more…mature?  Maybe, but I doubt it knowing me, although I might do some softer versions of abstract art just to experiment.
I was reading a blog yesterday where a website guru was analyzing someone’s site, and he said that the only thing this person’s site would do for him if he were to buy one of their products was to give him some exercise as he carried it to the trash.  I thought that was harsh.  His closing advice was that people need to create products that the public wants, not create products that you like to create.
I can see the wisdom in that for a commercially run business, but what about artists?  It would seem to me that as an artist, it would be important to stay true to yourself and create what appeals to your own visual and emotional taste.  If you don’t do that, then wouldn’t that be selling out?
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve certainly done that in the past, and while it was more profitable to design for the public, ultimately it’s not fulfilling and even feels fake.  As an artist, I think it’s really important to stay true to yourself and find the niche of buyers that have the same kind of taste.  Although, finding those people that have the same taste as me might be like finding a needle in a haystack…I dunno….lol
Well I’m off to enjoy another nice day!  This is my favorite time of year…..watching the flowers grow and bloom, hearing the birds chirping and the frogs chirping….  watching the trees green up…..love it!
Later,
Laurie

>"Healing Energy" for Japan

>

“Healing Energy” by Primalpainter
“Healing Energy” is digital energy art created from my wall sculpture entitled “Clearing the Chaos“.   I created it today in response to feeling helpless.  I held my intention steady on sending healing energy to all those affected by this terrible disaster during the entire creative process.  I don’t know that it will help, but it sure doesn’t hurt.
I need a break from the news, it’s really starting to affect my energy level and mood.  My boyfriend has been watching the news nonstop, and I’m about ready to throw the tv (and maybe him) off the balcony.  I wouldn’t do that, though, I like my Wednesday night shows, and he’s the cook in the family, can’t toss the cook off the balcony.

Desperate for a break from the whole end of the world, worst case scenario mentality, I found a couple of videos to lift the vibe a little.

Is it wrong that I find that hilarious?  Heheeeeheeeeeeeeeee!  I bet that lady’s pissed that her son put that video on you tube.

How about another one……
That looks like fun…….It makes me imagine hopping around in a tuxedo at a serious cocktail party. lol
One more short one
lol
Ok, I feel a little better, have a great day!

>Professional? Me? LOLOLOL

>

I had a terrible nightmare last night, one of those where you wake up with a pounding heart, heavy breathing, and a generalized feeling of alarm (no, it wasn’t a sex dream involving oompa loompas or scary clowns).
In my dream, my hair was really messy and I was wearing my usual  jeans so heavily covered with every hue of paint I own that they’re really stiff, and I can only bend over  from the waist while keeping my legs straight. Then a disembodied voice, sounding suspiciously like Julia Child says “It would be-hoooooove you to present yourself in a more pro-fessh-ional manner.”
First of all, that voice……(shudder) and second of all,  who says behoove and what does it mean and third of all, professional? Me?   I’ve pondered the wisdom of this advice, so in an effort to present myself more professionally, I present you with this video:

Take that Julia Child…….How do you like me now!.
Rebelliously yours,
Laurie
